Credit Union Christmas Pageant is very excited to announce a special Pageant Partnership with Camp Quality, who has joined the event as its official charity partner, collaborating to spread Pageant magic and shine a light on a very special type of kindness – known as Kid-ness.
Kid-ness is the sheer delight of being in the moment, the strength to believe anything is possible and giving with all your heart – the essence of being a kid. Camp Quality helps Kid-ness thrive for children going through the daily ups and downs of cancer.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, David Ridgway, said the partnership was a great fit for South Australia’s largest community event and would help support the charity’s excellent work.
“Camp Quality’s programs help ensure children and their families have the opportunity to thrive even during the most challenging of times,” said Minister Ridgway.
Camp Quality believes every Australian child impacted by cancer – be that their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of someone they love - should have every opportunity to thrive. Camp Quality do this by providing innovative programs and services to develop life skills and strengthen the wellbeing of children aged 0 – 13 growing up with cancer, and their families.
Kylea Tink, Camp Quality CEO said that the partnership delivered an ideal platform to inspire the entire South Australian community to let their Kid-ness thrive this festive season.
“Kid-ness is about celebrating the child in us all, that’s lost during the daily ups and downs of cancer. In its simplest terms it’s writing a card to tell someone why you love them, playing a game outside with your family, writing a joke in chalk on the pavement – which we are encouraging everyone to do at the Pageant as an Act of Kid-ness,” Kylea said.
“We are so excited to be part of this very special South Australian event, and to raise much needed funds to bring Kid-ness back to more families impacted by cancer.”
In 2018, the Credit Union Christmas Pageant is celebrating 86 years since the first event. The partnership will see the Pageant and Camp Quality join forces this festive season to highlight the importance of ‘Kid-ness’.
Help Camp Quality ensure Kid-ness thrives in kids and their families impacted by cancer by donating online or on Pageant Day.
The 2018 Credit Union Christmas Pageant will be held on Saturday 10 November 2018, departing from South Terrace at 9.30 am once Sir Edward Hayward’s legendary gold whistle is blown.
