Covid-19 Aboriginal Vaccine Ambassador and talented X-Factor finalist, Ellie Lovegrove, is performing and headlining the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant for the first time and said she was excited for the opportunity to entertain all those that will be watching.
“I was born and raised in South Australia and am so humbled to be invited to perform this year. Being in the heart of the community is something I am proud of, especially in my current role as South Australia’s Covid-19 Aboriginal Vaccine Ambassador, and I’m truly proud of all South Australians who have worked hard to make an event like the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant go ahead”.
“I can’t wait to get out there, have some fun and help officially kick off the Christmas cheer for all the children and families watching,” Ms Lovegrove said.
Earlier this year, G-Nat!on turned all four chairs on The Voice, making history as the largest group to audition. With over 1 million YouTube subscribers to date, they have won hearts in Australia and abroad with catchy R&B pop-hits and message of female friendship and solidarity, and they are thrilled to perform live in front of 35,000 South Australians at Adelaide Oval and to all those watching from home.
“Being asked back to the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant is a huge blessing. We are all born and raised South Australians, so being a part of such a special community event that means so much to so many near and far, is something we hold very dearly to our hearts.” G-Nat!on said.
National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant Director, Brian Gilbertson, said the audience can expect a great night of entertainment thanks to a strong line up of South Australian performers.
“There’s no doubt the performing arts industry has been impacted by COVID-19 which is why the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant is so excited to have our wonderful homegrown talent to come together with our beautiful Pageant floats and our 500 dancers and musicians to deliver a night of celebration and to officially declare the festive season open for business,” said Mr Gilbertson.
Beaumont Tiles CEO, Danny Casey, said the 89th National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant will be one to remember for the people of South Australia and beyond.
“This event is a celebration for our community, and we are proud to see local talent taking centre stage this year. We are committed to supporting the arts in South Australia and this line up shows just how strong our homegrown talent is.”
Independent Theatre actors David Roach and Julie Quick together with young actors Benji Marks and Gracie Cheung from the Australian Youth Ballet Company will also star in the telling of the story, Twas the Night Before Christmas with ballet and digital dream sequences, presented by Beaumont Tiles.
Topping off the celebrations, will be a colourful firework display presented by SA Power Networks to mark the conclusion of the event.
“The sky above Adelaide Oval will be lit up on 13 November by a marvellous fireworks display that will feature an array of colour and be a spectacle for those watching the finale live or at home. And there will also be some pyrotechnics to surprise audiences through the show”, Kylie Kerrigan, Sponsorship Manager SA Power Networks said.
The National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant will be held on Saturday 13 November at the Adelaide Oval and broadcast live on Channel 9 from 7pm for those watching from home.
