Heading to the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant? Public transport can help get you there

 

Additional bus and train services will operate before, during and after the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant. Several road closures and detours will be in place before, during and after the Pageant on Saturday 8 November 2025.

There are many public transport services close by:

  • Adelaide Railway Station
  • Multiple major bus routes service the Adelaide CBD

Free Public Transport

Pageant goers can catch FREE public transport to and from the event between 6:00am and 2:00pm. Free travel is available on all Adelaide Metro buses and trains. Tram services will also be free but will be limited due to the 6-month partial tram closure. Additional Adelaide Metro services will also be in operation.

 

Bus Services

Multiple road closures and detours will be in place between first service to 1:30pm. Bus services will operate, but certain routes will be impacted by the city closures.

Other services will operate as normal and won’t be affected by the city road closures. Use the journey planner to plan your trip to the Pageant.

 

Train Services 

Train services will be FREE to and from the Adelaide Railway Station before and after the event. View your timetable via the links below, so you can plan your journey to the Christmas Pageant.

 

Tram Services

Limited tram services will run before and after the event. Road closures and the 6-month partial Glenelg tram line closure will affect services, with substitute buses in place.

The Glenelg line will operate to and from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and Adelaide Railway Station. The Botanic and Festival lines will not operate until approximately 1:00pm.

Tram substitute buses:

The GLN1 all stopping service will operate as a substitute bus service for the Glenelg tram line. This will operate between Wigley Reserve and South Terrace between 6:30am until 1:00pm.

Additional tram services will operate during this time to provide additional capacity and frequency.

Services will drop off and pick up at a temporary stop located on South Terrace, approximately 200 metres from King William Street.

 

Free City Connector Bus

If you are exploring the city before or after the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, take advantage of the free City Connector bus and travel to places throughout the city and North Adelaide for free! Offering a hop-on hop-off service, the free City Connector bus links you to popular city attractions, shopping, dining and other services.
