Get to know Prince James

Senior Manager of People and Culture at National Pharmacies

1. Which National Pharmacies store do you work at and what is your role?

I am the Senior Manager of People and Culture, based in the National Support Office in Adelaide.

2. What is your favourite thing about the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant and what are you most excited about?

The smiles and genuine joy on everyone’s faces… not just from the kids, but from the parents and grandparents too (experiencing their own joy, but also the joy of seeing their children and grandchildren so happy).  There is a lot to feel ‘down’ about in the world at the moment, and the pageant is a great opportunity to remind ourselves that there is also a lot of joy!

3. Why did you apply to be part of the royal family and what is the best part about joining the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant royal family?

The Pageant is such an iconic event and I had heard great feedback from team members who had been a part of the Royal Family in past years.  The Royal Family are truly the custodians of this event, and I am looking forward to continuing that legacy!

4. What is your go-to song when putting up the Christmas Tree?

Probably “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” by Bing Crosby, or maybe the Michael Bublé version if I’m feeling a bit more modern… but really, anything off the Michael Bublé or Mariah Carey Christmas albums!  How can you not sing-along to those?!

5. Do you have a favourite float in the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant?

Probably the Circus float, because that is the most memorable for me, being the first time I participated in the Pageant in 2022.

6. What is your favourite Christmas tradition?

Christmas morning breakfast with my close family.  Sharing gifts and spending time with those closest to me, in a completely relaxed and safe surrounding, with plenty of smiles and genuine connection.

7. Would you rather go for a ride on Father Christmas’ sleigh or get a tour of his workshop?

Workshop hands-down; helped by the fact that I don’t love heights but also a genuine desire to understand how he and his team can work so efficiently across the year to get so many smiles out to so many children in one evening!

8. Would you rather spend a day watching Christmas movies or listening to Christmas music?

Probably movies; would it be wrong for me to say that one of my favourites is “Die Hard”?  Closely followed by “Love Actually”, which is like a Christmas tradition in our family.
